Terms of service
These terms are an agreement between you and us about the MacBite app and website. Please read them. If you do not agree, do not create an account.
1. Who can use MacBite
You must be at least 16 years old. By creating an account you confirm that you are, and that the details you give are true. One account per person.
2. What MacBite does
MacBite uses AI to give you tips for gym machines and estimates of what is in a meal from a photo, and helps you track meals, water, workouts and progress. It is a tool for general fitness and nutrition. It is not medical advice. Results are estimates and can be wrong. Talk to a doctor or dietitian before changing your diet or exercise if you have a medical condition, are pregnant, or have ever had an eating disorder. Stop any exercise that hurts, and follow the instructions of your gym.
3. Free trial, plans and payment
Free trial
Every new account gets a 7-day free trial with 3 scans a day of gym machines and meals, plus your calorie and macro targets. You do not need to add a card or any payment details. The trial starts when you finish setting up your profile and ends automatically after 7 days. Nothing is charged when it ends. You get one free trial per person. Creating extra accounts to get more trials is not allowed and we may close those accounts. Progress photos are not part of the free trial.
When the trial ends you need a plan to keep scanning. Your account and logs stay saved.
Plans
You can choose a paid plan at any time, during or after the trial:

- Prices are in US dollars. Your local price, and any taxes, are shown in Google Play before you pay.
- Payment is taken by Google Play, and Google Play's own terms also apply to your purchase. Plans renew automatically until you cancel.
- Daily scans reset at midnight. Unused scans do not carry over.
- Paid plans include weekly progress photos for users aged 18 and over.
- Cancel any time in Google Play, under Payments and subscriptions. You keep your plan until the end of the period you paid for.
- If we change a price we will tell you in advance and it will apply from your next renewal.
- Refunds are covered in our refund policy, including a 14-day money-back guarantee.
4. Your account and content
- Keep your sign-in details to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
- Your photos and information remain yours. You give us permission to process them only to run MacBite for you, as our privacy policy explains.
- Only photograph things you are allowed to photograph. Do not upload other people's faces, private information or anything illegal.
5. Rules of use
Do not: break the law; try to get into other people's accounts or our systems; copy, resell or reverse-engineer the app; use bots or scripts to scan; abuse the AI to produce harmful content; or share your account.
6. Our property
The app, its design, Mac the mascot and the MacBite name belong to us. You get a personal, non-transferable right to use the app while you follow these terms.
7. Ending things
You can delete your account at any time (see Delete your account). Deleting your account does not cancel your Google Play subscription, so cancel that first. We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms, and we will tell you why unless the law stops us.
8. Availability and changes
We work to keep MacBite running but cannot promise it will always be available or error-free. We may change or stop features. If we change these terms in an important way we will tell you in the app and ask you to accept again.
9. Our responsibility
Nothing in these terms limits rights you have by law that cannot be limited, or liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence or for fraud. Subject to that, MacBite is provided "as is", and we are not responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable or for decisions you make based on estimates from the app.
10. Our right to change things and general terms
- AI results: MacBite uses automated analysis. Results can be wrong or incomplete, and the same photo can give slightly different results. They are not professional advice and nothing is decided about you by a machine alone.
- Whole agreement: these terms and our privacy policy are the whole agreement between you and us about MacBite.
- If part is unenforceable: the rest still applies. If we do not enforce a rule straight away, we can still enforce it later.
- Contact and notices: we may contact you through the app or at the email on your account.
11. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of Kenya. The courts of Nairobi can hear disputes, but this does not remove any rights you have to use your local courts as a consumer. Please contact us first at support@macbite.app and we will try to sort it out.
